About Jessee Gardiner

Country Artist Jessee Gardiner aka “Redneck Roughneck” was raised in Manitoba, Canada. His family moved around a lot as he was growing up and it set a wonderful foundation for a childhood that was rich with different experiences laying a foundation for his songs.  He enjoyed spending time with his Grandparents Bobby and Eva Gardiner in the Qu’appelle Valley in St. Lazare Manitoba. Jessee and his siblings spent their time roaming the valley building forts, waking the river & fishing. Jessee was always an adventure seeker he was always outside riding his bike. Grandma Eva was a major influence in Jessee’s musical life.  Growing up he and his Grandmother would play her organ and sing together. At the age of ten his family settled in Saskatchewan. In middle school he started playing football and eventually went on to play football at the University of Saskatchwan while pursuing a Teaching Degree. Playing college ball was a dream come true. Eventually Jessee found himself a career that suited his love of the outdoors and his drive for success in the oilfield where he gained his nickname Redneck Roughneck.  When his son Bobby was born in 2013 his primary focus in life was to raise his son.  Being a father and working in the oilfield is challenging because you are working away in the oilfield half of your life.

Music was always a deep passion of Jessee’s. The first album he bought was Shaniah Twain’s “The Woman In Me” and he grew up singing along to Garth Brooks.  His Grandparents introduced Jessee to Jim Reeves, The Beach Boys, Abba & Johnny Cash. His taste in music is ecclectic which is reflected in Jessee’s songwriting. Currently he listens to Luke Combs, Thomas Rhett, Chris Stapleton, Tim McGraw,  The Highway Women and Faith Hill. In 2017 he stepped out for his next big adventure in life and auditioned for The Voice in Austin, Texas. This was a life changing experience for Jessee. It was his first trip to the United States and to be able to be in “The Music City” of Austin, TX was exhilarating.  Jessee says, “It was amazing to be surrounded by thousands of aspiring musicians. I found myself in a place I have always wanted to be but did not know how to get there. I was inspired by their talent and I was supported and encouraged for my music.  I did not make the cut but I walked away using my rejection as my motivation to continue forward and chase my dream of making music for others.”

From that audition forward Jessee’s life continued to change for the better. Another door opened when he reconnected with an old friend who is now his fiance. They share the blessing of being parents to their son Wesley who is five months old and their bulldog “Tank” and border collie “Gunner”. They reside in Duchess, Alberta where they will continue to grow their family together.

Jessee is currently working with the development team at Heart Songs Records (Nashville, TN).  He plans on releasing a new single in the fall of 2019. Jessee is currently working with songwriters to put together his first ep project.  Jessee is also participating in regional singing competitions and enjoys immersing himself in his local music scene.
